February 1, 2011 - Monster Storms and Awakening Volcanoes

Lots of catastrophic Earth changes and climate changes to report today.

Monster U.S. Winter Storm

'A winter weather colossus' is making its way across the U.S. heartland, paralyzing much of the nation in dangerous ice and snow. 'The storm is being billed as the worst in decades'. Tulsa, Ok's newspaper canceled for the first time in its history... nearly 106 years. 'The storm held the potential to impact about 100 million people, or one-third of the U.S. population...' See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41365053/ns/weather/?GT1=43001

Also, the storm is threatening the nation's wheat and cattle, 'threatening the dormant winter wheat crop, cattle herds and grain deliveries.' Continuing, 'The key farm states of Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri were being hammered on Tuesday by what forecasters said could be a record-setting combination of frigid conditions and snowfall of a foot or more in some areas.' (WR - emphasis mine) And, 'Any damage to the crop would rally CBOT wheat futures, which are already trading around 29-month highs due to a drought in Russia and rains that damaged the Australian crop.' (WR - emphasis mine) See http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110201/ts_nm/us_usa_weather_agriculture

Ok. Notice how this is RECORD SETTING weather which is occurring ON TOP OF already damaging food production activity in Russia and Australia due to severe weather events. Remember my post a few days ago which quoted an authority that any more catastrophic food-damaging weather would increase food prices? Well...

Monster Australian Cyclone

Cyclone Yasi has been raised to a CATAGORY 5, the largest it can be. The article states, 'Gusts up to 174 mph (280 kph) are expected when Cyclone Yasi strikes late Wednesday night. The storm front is more than 310 miles (500 kilometers) wide and Yasi is so strong, it could reach far inland before it significantly loses power. - "Yasi ... poses an extremely serious threat to life and property," the bureau warned, adding that the storm is likely to be, "more life-threatening than any experienced in recent generations." - "We are facing a storm of catastrophic proportions in a highly populated area," Bligh said. "What it all adds up to is a very frightening time. We're looking at 24 hours of quite terrifying winds, torrential rain, likely loss of electricity and mobile phones. People really need to be preparing mentally if nothing else." - "It's such a big storm — it's a monster, killer storm — that it's not just about where this crosses the coast that is at risk," Bligh said.' (WR - emphasis mine) See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41363738/ns/weather/

This is a BIG storm! Notice the words used by this Big Brain... life-threatening, castrophic proportions, a monster, killer storm... and that it is one that hasn't been experienced for generations.

Ok. What I'm doing here is showing INCREASED climate change and global warming activities... and these two MONSTER storms fit the bill.

Japan's Shinmoedake Volcano Blows AGAIN

This article starts out with... 'Dormant for about 300 years, Japan's Shinmoedake is very awake now.' Shinmoedake blew for the first time in 300 years last Friday, but made another big blow today which 'threw boulders for miles and broke windows 5 miles away in its biggest explosion yet" earlier today. "The blast sent a huge plume of gas and ash into the sky and officials widened the danger zone to keep residents away." It was "the biggest since the Shinmoedake (sheen-moy-DAH'-keh) volcano burst to life last week."' See http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2011/02/01/133396454/video-japanese-volcano-blows-its-top

Now, I have recently moved to Arequipa, Peru which is surrounded by 3 BIG dormant volcanoes. My wife giggles at me on one hand because of my belief that they could spring back to life after 500 years of being dormant, and deeply respects me on the other hand because I am showing how length of dormancy really doesn't matter in today's Earth changing events. Just last year, a volcano in Colombia (I believe) erupted after being dormant for 500 years. Things are popping and there ain't no stoppin' it!

As always, I'll keep ya'll informed of Earth change and climate change events. Stay tuned for further progressive reports!

Batten down the hatches... this ride could get rough! =)
